  • 101 Visual Basic and C# Code Samples
Download these Microsoft Visual Basic .NET samples to learn more about building Windows–based applications and XML Web services.

  • Application Compatibility Analyzer
Available as either a separate download or as part of the Application Compatibility Toolkit, this tool makes it much easier for you to gather an inventory of all the applications running on your network, and then analyze that list for compatibility with the Windows operating system you are deploying.

  • FrontPage 2002 Course Web Site Template
This template enables you to create a course Web site, and is used in many of the examples for the tutorial Creating a Course Web-site.

  • Real-time HTTP compression check
HTTP Compression delivers amazing speed enhancements via file size reduction. Test Web sites with this free tool, and see the difference compression makes.

  • Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit
The Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) enables software developers, ISVs, and IT professionals who work in a corporate environment to determine, before rolling out within the organization, whether their applications are compatible with a new version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. ACT also enables such individuals to determine how an update to the new version will impact their applications.

  • Resolving application compatibility issues with Compatibility Administrator
Once application testing has revealed possible compatibility issues between an application and Windows XP, a resolution must be found to enable the application to run as expected. These compatibility fixes can be gathered into compatibility layers and distributed with the Compatibility Administrator tool.

  • Windows Application Verifier
Available as part of the Application Compatibility Toolkit, the Application Verifier (AppVerifier) is a collection of tests used during the application development and testing process. It helps developers identify potential application compatibility, stability, and security issues.

  • Schema documentation program
This program allows you to document extensions made to the Active Directory directory service. After you add custom schema extensions to a domain controller, you can use this program to document the extended schema.

  • Server Performance Advisor
A free diagnostic tool developed to diagnose root causes of performance problems in Windows Server 2003, particularly performance problems for IIS 6.0 and the Active Directory. It measures the performance and use of resources by your computer to report on the parts that are stressed under workload. Do not install this tool on Win2000/XP.

  • Scripting Tools

    • ADSI Scriptomatic
The ADSI Scriptomatic is designed to help you write ADSI scripts; that is, scripts that can be used to manage Active Directory. For example, the ADSI Scriptomatic will help you write a script to delete a user account.

    • Scriptomatic
Write WMI scripts like a pro. The Scriptomatic is an example of a Hypertext Application, essentially a Web page that uses a .HTA file extension. When you fire up the Scriptomatic, it automatically loads the names of a selected set of WMI classes into a dropdown list box. After the Scriptomatic finishes loading, you simply select the desired class and, voila! You have a script that returns information.

    • Tweakomatic
The Tweakomatic is a nifty utility that writes WMI scripts that allow you to retrieve and/or configure Windows and Internet Explorer settings on a local or remote computer.

  • Windows Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK
This SDK provides the documentation, samples, header files, libraries, and tools you need to develop applications that run on Windows. The applications you develop with this edition of the SDK can run on the x86, x64 and Itanium-based versions of Windows Server 2003 SP1, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP x64 Pro Edition, and Windows 2000.
